On Thanksgiving Day, my sister Michelle, cousin Cara, her hubby Brian, and myself went to Downtown Roanoke to run in the 6th Annual Drumstick Dash. There were about 14,000 people there! It was crowded, but it was fun and for a good cause! It was Cara and Brian's first race, and they rocked the house! Way to go you guys!
Afterwards, Michelle, Peyton, John, and I met up with the rest of our family in Sweet Springs, WV. We ate a lot of great food, played charades (young vs. old - it ended in a tie!), took naps, and just hung out.
The Friday after Thanksgiving, several cousins and aunts along with my sister and her boys and I went to the Greenbriar in White Sulphur, WV. It's a resort built in the early 1900's and is still decorated in the old vintage style. It's not decorated in the most wonderful colors, but it is original and ornate! They serve tea daily at 4:15pm - and we were there in time for it!

My Grandaddy and MeeMaw used to own/run a small gas station right beside their home. The building is still there, and the family still uses it regularly. We don't sell things anymore, but it's a place to gather together for picnics, parties, and a good ol' deer meat fry.
After spending the day at the Greenbriar, we met up with Uncle Paul and Uncle Rich who were hard at work in The Store breading up some deer tenderloin to fry up in some Crisco. We slap some mustard and a few slices of onion on white bread, then put some hot meat on top for an incredible, unforgettable sandwich. I may have had 1... or 2...for dinner that night!
It was Peyton's first deer meat fry in The Store.

I took a long weekend trip up to Boston to visit folks at Redemption Hill Church (RHC). Boston is beautiful, of course, and with the chill in the air, decorations everywhere, and Christmas music playing, it was feeling a lot like Christmas up north! We went to see the Screwtape Letters on Saturday night in this amazingly
decorated, very quaint theatre near Harvard Square.
It was a great production. I recommend it!
