My youngest nephew, John, turned one over Labor Day weekend. We had a party at Bam and Papaw's Friday night to celebrate, and Peyton and I baked a cake and some cupcakes in preparation for the party. John walked away with a load of great gifts!

Labor Day Weekend in the Carter family is accompanied every year with the Carter Family Reunion. Family from all over the U.S. travels to Sweet Springs, WV to see the old home place, catch up with one another, eat great food, play games, and make memories.
This year was no different. There were about 100 people in attendance - a lot of whom I didn't know...which is why we wear name tags. Our family is pretty big, and the more we learn, the more we realize how large the family really is! We don't all know each other, so the reunion is also a time for us to get to meet and to know other cousins, aunts, great uncles, and long lost family.
God blessed the day by granting us beautiful weather, good health, great food, fun games, new additions to the family, and lots of laughs. We had a nice greeting and welcome time (thanks, Mary!), a few great games for the kiddos (thanks, Marki!), tons of great food (thanks everyone!), several fun games of volleyball, a game of Andy Over, a sing-a-long (thanks, Alan!), and just a good ol' time with each other. Praise the Lord for blessings like these!
The Saturday before the Sunday reunion, Michelle, Peyton, and I joined the
Snyder crew in a little trip to Humpback Bridge, a historical
landmark in WV since the 1850's.
